Artwork & Designs
FAQs about how best to prepare your artwork and designs when customising clothing.
What fonts are available for text designs? +
We have a wide range of embroidery fonts available via Wilcom Design Studio, so you can choose from any of those.
If you have something specific in mind, send us an example and we’ll let you know the closest match.
What is the setup cost? +
Embroidery digitising: £20 + VAT. This is a one-off setup fee for that logo in that size.
If the same logo is used on items like beanies or caps, it may need to be digitised differently due to stitch type and density.
DTF printing: there is no setup fee.
If we need to remake your logo due to quality issues (such as a low-resolution file), any artwork charge would be quoted case-by-case and always confirmed with you before we proceed.
What artwork requirements should I follow? +
For the best print and embroidery results, we recommend supplying:
PNG files at 300 DPI (high resolution, ideally with a transparent background), or
Vector files such as AI, EPS, or SVG, which can scale without any loss of quality.
Which embroidery threads do you use? +
For black and white embroidery we use Madeira Classic threads for a clean, durable finish.
For coloured embroidery we use Ackermann Isacord, which offers a wide palette of 423 colours to help us find the closest possible match to your branding.
We also have flame-retardant embroidery threads available where specific safety or compliance requirements apply.
Will you send me a proof before production? +
Yes — we’ll send an artwork proof for approval before production begins so you can confirm sizing, placement, and colours.
Which artwork file formats do you accept? +
Vector files are always best (AI, EPS, SVG, or PDF). High-resolution PNG or JPG files may also be usable depending on quality.
